Grouped scatter charts show multiple series with (x, y) points on a cartesian plot area. Points may be represented with different symbols (like circle, triangle, cross etc) or external images, called markers.
Our US and France Sales demo charts show a point at the intersection of each year value between 2000 and 2017 and the number of products sold in US or France in that year. These are multi-series charts, and the points from each series get a different color and/or marker. The horizontal X baseline appears here as a category axis, with regular intervals for each year value. Scatter charts use also often a linear baseline, with X values distributed at random intervals.
